Create a new document:
650 pixels wide,
65 pixels in height,
Resolution: 72

Choose a color or a gradient for your background layer and fill
the canvas. Then go to Effects Palette and choose Bevel.
Try out the
different bevels to see which one is best for your banner.
It
might look like this.
Next
select the T [Text] tool.
Type text for your banner.

Switch to the Selection tool [arrow]. From the palette bin select a
bevel effect for your text. You might even hold down on the word 'Bevels'
and move to the 'Drop Shadow' effect and add a drop shadow.

Whatever
you do, remember that this is also a communication tool; it needs to
be able to be read easily!
IMPORTANT NOTE: As long as you do NOT resize the text with the arrow
tool, it can be edited by simply using the T-tool. It is often hard
to click at the edge of the words, so don't try to do that. Click
somewhere INSIDE the text block. Once inside the text block, a double
click will select one word; a triple click will select all the words. |
