Using the "built in" help

help screen in dreamweaverThe most useful and most underused feature on every computer for almost every program is the built in help file.

It is accessed on the menu bar. Do not click in SEARCH at this point because it will search ALL the help programs on your computer, not just Dreamweaver's help. First pull down to Dreamweaver Help and release the mouse.

Now you can either put in search words or choose one of the items in the Contents menu on the left, or switch to index for an alphabetical list of topics. Looking through the contents and just reading and learning is a very good thing for beginners and power users as well. You'll always find something new to learn!

For example, here I'm looking for how to find a broken link, so I clicked index on the left and choose "L" then scrolled down to the word links, clicked on it and choose what my problem was. The Help screen comes up with the answer and related information.
