Tables: Adding, Merging, Splitting Cells

So what if you are sitting there with a table 1 row and 1 column and you realize that you need 3 columns and 4 rows? Just go to the property inspector.

rows, columns, merge, split apart on table property inspectorChanging the information in the properties will change the look of the table. So, change the Rows # to 4 and the Cols (columns) # to 3! It's that easy. The cells will 'grow' as you add text and /or images. The images below rows & cols allow for clearing the table width or height. Use this if you want the table to adjust to the content of each cell and divide up the space itself.

properties of table cells - merge/splitIf you prefer to control the cell width yourself, select a cell and specify the pixels w (wide) or H (high).

In the above example note that in column 2 the first 2 cells have been "merged"; select the cells and click the merge button. Column 3, row 4 has been split into two additional column; click in the cell and click the split button. All this can help in creating the page layout.
