Karate

I first started karate when I was five and living in Georgia. I loved my teacher and the dojo. I was heartbroken when we moved to Oak Park and I had to find a new one. I was even more upset when I found out that I had to start all over again at white belt. I have now had my black belt for three years and am still very involved with karate.

I now go to the Miura dojo on Garfield and Harlem in Oak Park. It is nice because the teachers are Japanese so you lean a little bit of their language and culture. You do not get that experience if you take lessons somewhere like the YMCA.
