Himeji fes [fall festival] -Usuki Shrine - Japan
October 21, 2008

The autumn festival of the Usuki Hachiman Shrine is the last autumn ceremony held in the Himeji city. The name "Chochin Matsuri'' comes from the fact that more than 1,000 lanterns are gathered hung from 3m-long bamboo poles. The lantern-carriers bump into each other to try to tear down the others' lanterns.
