The Little Wolves

Grade 2, Shady Side Academy Junior School, Pittsburgh, Pensylvania

Once upon a time there were three little wolves named Bob, Chuck and Joe.  One bright morning they went off to get supplies to build three houses.  The first little wolf, Bob, met a man who was selling straw.  Chuck bought sticks for his house.  Joe got bricks and cement to build his house. The three little wolves worked hard all afternoon to finish their homes.

The next morning, a big bad pig wandered around and found Bob’s house of straw.  The big bad pig liked to eat little wolves so he knocked on Bob’s door and said, “Little wolf, little wolf, let me come in!”  “No!” said the wolf, “not by the fur on my chinny chin chin!”  In fact, he had a LOT of fur on his chin.  The big pig huffed and puffed and blew Bob to his brother Chuck’s house.  But the big bad pig followed…

When Bob got to Chuck’s house, he ran so fast and hard into the house that it broke!  Then they had to go to Joe’s house.  And the big bad pig followed, again.  The big bad pig huffed and puffed, but he couldn’t blow the house of bricks down.  The pig climbed up the chimney.  When the wolves saw this, they began to make their favorite kind of soup.  The pig slipped down the chimney and fell into the soup.  SPLASH! The big bad pig learned to be kind and became friends with the three little wolves.  He also became a vegetarian.
