Second Grade, Richlands Primary School, Richlands, North Carolina Once upon a time there were three little penguins that lived with their mom. They went outside to play on the cold, blue ice. They decided to go out on an amazing adventure. While they were walking they saw a big ice castle. The three silly penguins saw an open window and squeezed through the window. They walked around the beautiful castle and found a room full of gold. They stuffed their bags full of gold. Then suddenly, a few coins fell out and made a lot noise. The king woke up and stomped downstairs. He was so mad he threw the three little penguins out the front door, but they still had a little gold left. The three little penguins met a rich troll and his ex-wife. The three little penguins asked the rich troll for transportation across the land to buy straw, wood, and ice. The rich troll said, “You can ride on my yak or my unicorn.” The three happy penguins chose to ride on the unicorn. As they were riding through the land they came across a queen and a princess who were selling straw, wood, and ice. The three little penguins bought the straw, wood, and ice. They hopped back on their unicorn and went towards the ocean. They were tired and cold, so they started to build their houses. The first little penguin built his out of straw, the second out of wood, and the third penguin built an igloo. It started to get dark and cold so the penguins rushed to build their houses before the full moon. That night when they were sleeping they heard someone step on a branch. The third penguin looked through his igloo window and saw the evil villain. The evil villain saw the three houses next to each other. The evil villain went to the first house and knocked on the door and said, “little penguin, little penguin, let me in, let me in.” The penguin said, “NO, not by the feathers on my tail fin.” The evil villain took his daughter’s fairy wand and ZAPPED the house. POOF, the house of straw was gone. He barely survived, as he ran screaming to the house made of wood. The evil villain was very mad and marched to the next house. “Little penguins, little penguins, let me in, let me in,” said the evil villain. “NO, not by the feathers on our tail fins,” said the penguins. The evil villain waved his magic wand and said a magical spell, and ZAPPED the second house. The two little penguins waddled as fast as they could to the third little penguin’s igloo. The evil villain said “little penguin, little penguin, little penguin, let me in, let me in or I’ll ZAP your igloo down.” “Go ahead and try big, evil villain,” teased the three little penguins. The jealous, evil villain waved his daughter’s wand and tried to ZAP the igloo down. Then the big, evil villain tried to climb up the igloo, but he slid down. The three little penguins said, “You may come in if you knock on our door politely and use your best manners.” The big, evil villain knocked politely on the door and said, “Please can I come in your igloo?” The big, evil villain went into the igloo and asked the three little penguins to forgive him for his bad manners. They all ate fish soup and snow cones for dinner and lived happily ever after. The End
