The Three Little Pigs

Grade 1, Roycemore School, Evanston Illinois

By: Mrs. Sheehan’s First Grade

Once upon a time, long, long ago in a neighborhood far far away there lived three little pigs. They were all grown up and had to leave their mom and move into their own houses.

They were really nervous because they didn’t have anything to build their houses.  So they used their money to buy bricks, sticks and straw from a man in town.

The first little pig bought straw for a little bit of money.
The second little pig bought sticks for a little more money.
The third little pig bought bricks for a lot of money.

After the pigs built their homes, the hungry wolf came to look for something to eat.
The wolf saw the first little pig’s house that was made of straw.  The wolf said, “Little pig, little pig let me in”.  The little pig said, “Not by the hair on my chinny chin chin.”  But, the wolf huffed and puffed and blew the house down.

The first little pig ran to the second little pig’s house.  He went inside with his brother.  The wolf came to his door and said, “Little pig, little pig, let me come in.”  The second little pig said, “Not by the hair on my chinny chin chin.”  So the wolf huffed and puffed and blew the house down.

The two little pigs zigzagged through the neighborhood to the third little pig’s house.  They went inside and the third little pig was making vegetable soup.  The first and second little pig felt frightened by the wolf but the third little pig was not scared at all.

The wolf came and said, “Little pigs, little pigs let me come in.”  The third little pig yelled, “Not by the hair on my chinny chin chin.”  The wolf huffed and puffed but could not blow the house down.

The wolf sat outside tired and hungry and wanting food to eat.  He had an idea to jump down the chimney to get the little pigs.  So he climbed down the chimney and landed in the pot of boiling hot vegetable soup.  The wolf was cooked!  OUCH!

The little pigs lived happily ever after!
