The Three Snow Bears

Grade 2, Westdale School - Northlake, Illinois

By Jan Brett
Mrs. Yanahan's 2nd Grade Class

Once upon a time, the three bears had soup, but it was too hot so they went for a walk so it can get cold a little bit. Baby bear yowled, "Ow-ee! My breakfast burned my mouth."

So, Papa bear said, "Let's take a stroll."

Meanwhile, Aloo-ki lost her dogs. The dogs were floating away on an ice floe in the below zero weather.

The three snow bears live in an igloo, and Aloo-ki found it when she was looking for her dogs. Aloo-ki found the bowls of porridge. She saw the middle-sized bowl. When Aloo-ki tasted the soup, it was very cold. The large sized bowl was too hot. The small sized bowl was just right. Aloo-ki ate the delicious bowl of soup. Then Aloo-ki found the three snow bears' shoes. Mama bear has fancy shoes.

Later she found the beds. Baby bear's bed was just right. An oil lamp shined in Aloo-ki's face and she felt sleepy. Aloo-ki fell asleep in baby bear's bed. She took a nap in baby bear's bed. She slept on the pillow.

While she was sleeping, Papa bear, Mama bear, and Baby bear helped and were being kind to the dogs. They pushed them to safety.

When the bears got home, they noticed that someone was eating their food, wearing their shoes, and sleeping in their beds. Baby bear started to wail because someone was wearing her shoes. Aloo-ki opened her eyes and saw three bear noses only inches away.

The bears roared at the girl.

Aloo-ki ran really quickly outside because she didn't want the bears to catch her. The door burst open and Aloo-ki came to her dogs. Aloo-ki was eXcited when she saw her dogs. The dogs grinned at the girl when she arrived.

As Aloo-ki flew over the frozen ice she waved thank-you to the snow bears, and they said good-bye.
