Goldilocks and The Three Bears

Grade 2, Woodcrest School - Fullerton, California

Once upon a time there was a little girl named Goldilocks.  Her mother asked her to go to the nearby village to buy muffins. Goldilocks’ mother told her to not use the shortcut on her way to the village.  Goldilocks did not obey her mother and went through the shortcut anyway.  Goldilocks went deep into the woods and found a charming house that belonged to three bears.  The bears were not home. They had gone for a bike ride in order to let their porridge cool down because it was too hot to eat.

Goldilocks went into the house.  First, she tried all of the bowls of porridge, and decided to eat all of Baby Bear’s porridge.

Next, she tried sitting in all of the chairs that belonged to the bears. The first two chairs were too big and too soft.  Baby Bear’s chair was just right, but Goldilocks was too heavy and broke the chair to smithereens.  Last, Goldilocks went upstairs and tried out all of the beds. She liked Baby Bear’s bed best, so she took a nap in it.

Soon the bears arrived home and noticed someone had been eating their porridge.  Baby Bear was very upset because his porridge was all gone.  Next, they discovered someone had been sitting in their chairs, and Baby Bear’s chair was broken.  He was very sad.  The bears tiptoed upstairs and found Goldilocks sleeping in Baby Bear’s bed.  Goldilocks woke-up and saw the bears.  She quickly got out of the bed and jumped out the window.  The bears never saw her again.
