Goldilocks and The Three Bears

Grade 2, Westdale School - Northlake, Illinois

Retold by James Marshall
Ms. Eissler’s and Ms. Fugate’s Class

Once upon a time there was a girl named Goldilocks. One day the mom sent Goldilocks to the village to get muffins. Goldilocks didn’t listen to her mother and zipped down a shortcut to the three bear’s house. She went to the house of the three bears because it looked inviting.

The bears left their porridge because it was too hot. Goldilocks was hungry and ate the porridge of the little bear. Goldilocks gobbled the porridge. She ate all the baby bear’s breakfast.

Then Goldilocks went to the parlor. She tried the sitting in the three chairs. The mother bear had a middle-sized chair. The girl was comfortable on the little chair. The baby bear’s seat was just right. Goldilocks broke a chair in the parlor.

Goldilocks then tiptoed up the stairs so she wouldn’t wake up the bears. Goldilocks was lying on the three beds. The first bed was too hard, the other was too soft, and the last was just right. Goldilocks was tired and she yawned. She fell asleep in the bed of the little bear.

Finally, the bears returned to their house. Baby bear was quite excited to go home. They saw that their porridge was eaten by Goldilocks.

The bears discovered the girl sleeping on the bed of the bears. They roared when they saw the little girl in the bedroom. The bears said, "Get out of our house!" The bears kicked Goldilocks out of the house.

Goldilocks never went back to the house.
